The Lead Educator oversees and ensures the delivery of a high-quality education and care program for the children whilst promoting a love of learning. Our Lead Educators ensure that they are developing social responsibility to meet the care and educational needs of individual children and families. The Lead Educator incorporates best practice and high standards into their educational programs, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of all children within their room. The Lead Educator supports the Green Leaves Commitments in daily principle and practice and actively role models the Green Leaves Commitments within the team.

Task & Responsibilities
Leads the development and delivery of high-quality educational programs, daily routines and the care of the learning environment, with a collaborative teamwork approach
• Ensures the learning environment is innovative and inspiring, and reflective of the educational program and the children’s interests
• Mentors and guides other educators in their understanding of the National Quality Standards and guidelines and how to reference these into their programs
• Regularly evaluate the program, learning outcomes, environment and teaching practices
• Inspires conversations and communication about the curriculum that provides a common language for Educators, children, families and the wider community
• Is a role model that interacts with children in a warm and positive manner creating a positive learning environment
• Provides a safe learning environment for children, including maintaining a high level of care and standard of health and hygiene
• Ensures infants are monitored continually throughout each day for signs of hunger, distress, discomfort and tiredness, and that routines are adhered to
• Assists in the development of Children’s self-help skills, independence, and self-confidence
• Support children daily in achieving developmental milestones
Qualification & Experience
Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent, or Early Childhood Teaching qualification
• Current Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates
• State relevant Working with Children Check, Blue Card or Safety Screening
• Current Child Protection Training
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with proven experience juggling a wide range of demands and priorities, and managing time effectively.
Previous experience as a Lead Educator
• Knowledge and experience with Qikkids and Educa (or similar equivalent platforms)
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Facebook.
