We are seeking full-time joiners and carpenters to join our team.
1. As a joiner you will be responsible for:
- Examine drawings, blueprints, construction plans and work orders to understand client specifications and requirements.
- Take required measurements, using pencils and measuring tape, and cross reference them with construction plans and blueprints to determine material requirements.
- Cut and shape wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation using saws and chisels as per specifications and drawings
- Assemble and join wooden parts to build doors, frames, shelves and other wooden and structural components using nails, screws, staples and adhesives, as appropriate.
- Ensure proper alignment, angles and positioning of wooden structures using spirit levels and against the blueprints. Install doors, cupboards, skirting boards as required.
- Install fixtures such as door handles and locks, hinges, bolts and railings. Repair, remove and/or replace wooden parts and structures that are damaged.
- Estimate the amounts, types, or costs of needed materials.
Successful applicants must have:
- Qualifications relevant qualifications including certificate III or IV in joinery
- Relevant 3 years joinery experience in lieu of formal qualification.

2. As a carpenter, you will have the following duties :
- Erect temporary structures and cladding.
- Interpret architectural and technical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals to plan and execute precise carpentry and modification works.
- Measure, mark, and set out work areas accurately for the construction and installation of structural elements such as walls, ceilings, floors, stairs, and roof frameworks.
- Install ceiling-mounted patient hoist systems, stair climbers, and other assistive equipment in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Construct and fit timber-based components, including ramps, handrails, balustrades, and other accessibility modifications to improve home safety and functionality.
- Fabricate, assemble, and secure building components using appropriate hand and power tools along with mechanical fasteners such as screws, brackets, and nails. Prepare basic construction sketches and layouts to support project planning, quotations, and job scheduling.
- Fit and align windows, doors, and related hardware, ensuring correct operation and a high-quality finish.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair existing timber structures, replacing or reinforcing damaged sections as required.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including builders, occupational therapists, and other trade professionals to deliver
- customised and high-standard construction and modification solutions.
Qualification and experience:
- A Certificate III in Carpentry or AQF Certificate IV.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in addition to relevant qualifications is required, or alternatively, at least 3 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu if relevant qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and carpentry techniques.Experience using a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
