What you'll do:

  • Mentor analysts and business users in Power BI development techniques, uplifting organisational capability in self-service analytics.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports that clearly communicate VET data insights tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Translate complex datasets into intuitive visualisations aligned with user requirements for both internal and external reporting.
  • Design and maintain efficient Power BI data models by collaborating with data engineers and integration teams to source, transform, and prepare data for visualisation using tools such as SQL and Power Query.
  • Ensure alignment between data models and sector information standards as well as metadata definitions.
  • Monitor data quality using analytical tools to identify trends, anomalies, and issues while supporting improvement initiatives focused on completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including government departments, regulators, training authorities, researchers, and policy makers to understand reporting needs.
  • Deliver training sessions, guidance, and support to stakeholders in using Power BI dashboards effectively while acting as a key point of contact for related queries.
  • Implement governance processes for Power BI including workspace management, access controls, security measures, compliance with privacy requirements, version control, documentation, and lifecycle management of reports.
