ShadeLAB Australia is a rapidly expanding manufacturer and supplier of high-end blinds, awnings, shade systems and fabric roofing products, servicing clients nationwide.

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist / Fabric Welding Operator to join our production team. This role involves the sewing, cutting, squaring and welding of technical fabrics including canvas, acrylic canvas, mesh and PVC materials used in the manufacture of premium blinds, awnings and fabric roofing systems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be working in a supportive, well-structured production environment with modern equipment and a strong focus on quality, accuracy and consistency.

Duties include:

  • Industrial sewing of canvas, acrylic canvas, mesh and PVC fabrics

  • Operation of single needle walking foot and twin needle sewing machines

  • Fabric welding using state-of-the-art welding equipment

  • Cutting and preparing fabric using knife and ultrasonic cutting machines

  • Measuring, squaring and preparing fabric panels for production

  • Working to job sheets, measurements and production specifications

  • Maintaining a high standard of finish across premium products

  • Assisting with general production tasks where required

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience using industrial sewing machines

  • Ability to sew accurately and consistently

  • Experience with walking foot and/or twin needle machines

  • Good fabric handling skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to measure, cut, square and prepare fabric accurately

  • A reliable, positive and team-focused attitude

Experience in the blinds, awnings, shade, canvas, marine trimming, upholstery, textile fabrication or PVC welding industries would be highly regarded.
