About the role:
This is a hands-on, visible role across the College. You will work across the College campus, in classrooms, computer labs and offices, directly with students and staff every day.
As our ICT Officer, your focus is on delivering timely, high-quality first-level technical support - resolving issues promptly, keeping the service desk moving, and ensuring our people can access the technology they need to teach and learn effectively.

  • Provide first-level ICT support across the College, resolving support requests in a timely way

  • Triage, prioritise, and escalate issues to ensure efficient resolution

  • Support staff and students with devices, software, logins, printing, and connectivity

  • Set up and maintain classrooms, computer labs, and audio-visual equipment

  • Manage user accounts, password resets, and device configuration

The role is suited to a recent graduate or someone early in their IT career who is ready to build hands-on experience across IT operations.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience working with young people or in a school or educational setting.

  • A friendly, approachable and responsive style, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and support users with varying levels of digital skills

  • The ability to prioritise and manage competing requests calmly in a busy environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with common ICT systems, Microsoft Products, AD, experience with Azure (preferred).

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in an ICT support or help desk role (minimum 1 year), with clear examples of resolving end-user issues in a timely, customer-focused way

  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration

  • National Police Check

Applications can be submitted via SEEK and should include:

 •         A current resume.

•         A written response to each of the four Key Selection Criteria (KSC) questions (no more than half a page per question).

Full instructions on how to apply are available by emailing **@mackillop.tas.edu.au or on our website https://www.mackillop.tas.edu.au/community/employment/. Please read these carefully - your responses form a central part of how we assess candidates. Applications close Wednesday 10th June 2026.

* We will be reviewing candidates as they are received, and interviews may be conducted prior to the closing date. Early applications are strongly encouraged.
