Siesta Sydney is seeking an experienced and motivated Reception and Hotel Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy backpacker and budget accommodation facility located in the heart of Sydney. This role is key to ensuring smooth front-of-house services, excellent guest experiences, and efficient management of staff and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the hostel reception, including check-in, check-out, and guest enquiries.
  • Supervise, train, and roster reception and housekeeping staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of occupancy, bookings, and financial transactions.
  • Oversee guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and security to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Implement and review policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and conflict resolution in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage supplier relationships and liaise with external service providers as required.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and other relevant regulations.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Management or a related field is desirable, though equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • 2-3 years relevant work experience in the similar role (required)
  • Strong leadership, staff management, and rostering skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of guests.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, operational systems, and reporting requirements.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
