We’re looking for an experienced and engaging HSE Manager to join our Perth team – someone who can combine technical excellence with authentic leadership to shape safe, mentally healthy and high-performing environments across our region.
Why this role matters
This is more than governance and compliance. It’s about:
Elevating HSE capability across diverse project and site teams
Influencing senior leaders to proactively manage risk
Driving digital innovation in our HSE pathway
Embedding psychosocial risk management into how we do business
Championing early intervention and return-to-work excellence
You’ll partner closely with Business Managing Directors, Service Group Leaders and project teams to ensure safety is not just managed — but genuinely lived.
What you’ll do
Strategic HSE Leadership
Provide trusted advice on governance, risk and compliance across the region
Lead injury and illness management, including early intervention and return-to-work coordination
Integrate psychosocial risk into business risk management frameworks
Support planning and prioritisation of HSE resources alongside the Group HSE Operations Leader
Project & Operational Support
Coach teams to strengthen risk assessment capability and effective control implementation
Deliver HSE Manager responsibilities including incident management, compliance assurance and reporting
Ensure projects meet client HSE requirements and contracted support commitments
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Drive adoption of HSE digital initiatives
Identify opportunities to simplify and enhance HSE delivery
Contribute to Aurecon’s evolving HSE strategy
What you’ll bring
Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, Business or related field
Deep knowledge of HSE legislation, systems and compliance requirements
Practical project-based HSE experience (preferable mining, oil and gas or heavy industrial)
Strong leadership and decision-making capability
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust at all levels
A curious, problem-solving mindset with personal drive and resilience
You’re comfortable navigating complexity, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and engaging a wide range of stakeholders across disciplines and client environments.
Ready to bring your ideas to life?
If you’re passionate about shaping safer workplaces, strengthening leadership capability, and making a tangible difference across major projects and advisory environments — this is your opportunity.
