About the Client

Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor delivering infrastructure and development projects across residential, commercial, industrial and government sectors. Their capabilities include earthworks, road construction, drainage, utilities and subdivision works, supported by experienced teams and a modern equipment fleet. 

What You Will Be Doing

Our client is chasing skilled GPS excavator operators to join their team for ongoing work! These are long-term positions, working Monday – Friday starting at 6:30am. You will be working on a sub division projects and be part of the pipe crew. Some of your main duties will be:

• Operate excavator safely for trenching, backfilling, and pipe installation support

• Set trench grades, falls, and depths to align with survey pegs and design plans

• Perform detailed excavation and trimming around live underground services including water, sewer, stormwater, gas, electrical and communications assets

• Read and interpret construction drawings, service plans and GPS machine control systems

• Trim trench bottoms accurately to required levels for pipe bedding

• Lift, position, and assist with laying pipes, pits, and structures using lifting gear

• Assist with trenching, backfilling, drainage installation and detailed civil works as required

What You Will Need

• Drivers licence and reliable transport

• RII excavator ticket

• GPS experience

• Construction white card

• Previous experience in the above duties
