The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Manage geological and geochemical programmes; geological logging; geological interpretation; ensure data and sampling quality is maintained. Ensure drilling and geophysical data collection is completed to appropriate standards and is cost effective;
- Ensure that all personnel working under the ultimate direction of the Geologist are supervised and receive adequate instruction;
- Submit daily and weekly reports to meet the required quality, content and timing;
- Maintain an organised electronic and paper filing system and ensure an auditable trail;
- Maintain regular communication and feedback with client;
- Assist in the development of exploration and drilling programmes;
- Conduct geological and geotechnical logging of core and RC chips;
- Maintain programs to ensure that accurate records and information systems are established for critical geological data;
- Attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
To be successful you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of mining/oil and gas industry experience.
- Formally qualified in a geology discipline, minimum BSc
- Demonstrate competency in geological processes
- Have had exposure to the following disciplines: geotechnical and geophysics field data collection
- Experience in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia
- Advantage to speak French or Italian
- Prepared to live in Kalgoorlie (mandatory)
