Expected salary: (50% Billings $180,000- $270,000) per year.

Task & responsibilities

Responsibilities

Provide high quality primary healthcare services to patients in accordance with professional medical standards.

Provide and document appropriate clinical treatment to patients, ensuring accurate medical records and adequate clinical notes are maintained for follow up care.

Ensure all documentation and patient health records are maintained in accordance with professional standards and applicable clinical guidelines.

Main tasks

Conduct patient consultations, examinations and assessments to diagnose illnesses and medical conditions.

Record patients’ medical histories, symptoms and clinical findings in patient health records.

Prescribe medications, treatments and other remedial measures appropriate to patients’ conditions.

Order laboratory tests, imaging and other diagnostic procedures and interpret results to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Monitor patients’ progress and response to treatment and provide ongoing medical care.

Provide preventative healthcare advice including lifestyle, diet, exercise and other measures to support patient wellbeing.

Refer patients to medical specialists or allied health professionals when required.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualification & experience

Relevant qualifications

Maintain all professional registrations and authorisations required to practise as a medical practitioner.

A recognised medical degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor of Medicine or Doctor of Medicine qualification.

Relevant skills

Strong clinical diagnostic and patient assessment skills.

Ability to develop and implement appropriate treatment and management plans.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.

Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Relevant experience

Experience: GP: 1 year (Preferred) in general practice or primary healthcare settings providing patient consultations, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.

Registration / Licensing / Professional membership requirements

Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
