Task & responsibilities

• Conducting consultations, examinations and treatment of patients of all ages. 
• Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions
• Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments
• Coordinating patient care, including referrals to specialists and allied health professionals. Providing after-hours Emergency On-Call services as part of a rotating roster at the Loxton Hospital at a frequency of approximately one 24-hour On-Call day each week
• Participating in continuing medical education and professional development activities
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Collaborating with the broader healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

Qualification & experience

• Registration as a General Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• At least 2 years needed working within the healthcare system and 2 years generalpractice experience desired but not necessary.
• Must have up-to-date CPR Accreditation and basic life support
• Desired to have a fellowship through RACGP or ACRRM, or working towards obtaining one of these fellowships
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of medical presentations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families and the healthcare team
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Adaptability and resilience to handle the demands of rural general practice
