About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and reliable General Electrician to support manufacturing, refurbishment, installation, maintenance, commissioning, and fault-finding activities across industrial projects and multiple customer sites. Focus will be on water treatment (emerging contaminants) and minerals processing technologies.
The successful applicant will be safety-focused, able to work independently, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform industrial electrical maintenance, fabrication, refurbishment, and installation works
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty electrical equipment and components
Examining blueprints. wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and safety requirements
Install, pull, terminate, and test power, control, and instrumentation cabling
Attend and perform work across multiple industrial and customer sites
Positioning and installing electrical switchboards
Work confidently on power and control circuits including 400V / 240V systems and low voltage control circuits (24V / 12V)
Installs, tests, connects, commissions, maintains and modifies electrical equipment, wiring and control systems
Comply with the Queensland Electrical Safety Act and Workplace Health and Safety requirements
Follow all safe work procedures, SWMS, and isolation/lockout procedures.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Relevant AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or an AQF Certificate IV. Alternatively, applicants with three or more years of highly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
Current White Card
Current Australian Driver Licence
Current Australian Forklift license (LF)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously
Flexibility to travel away to multiple customer sites inc. remote
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Desirable
Experience with industrial switchboards, PLC systems, and commissioning activities
Experience in fabrication and refurbishment projects
Additional industrial tickets and licences advantageous
EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space tickets
