Dishtec Pty Ltd are seeking a highly skilled full-time gasfitter to join their team in Sydney. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment for our clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the industry and possess exceptional technical and customer service skills.

Task & responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose, and repair a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and more.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify equipment malfunctions, faulty components, and potential issues.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner to minimise downtime and optimize functionality.
  • Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
  • Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Assemble fittings and valves for installation
  • Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed
  • Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary
  • Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing
  • Assemble and install mechanical systems, air handling equipment, and cooling/heating systems.
  • Instal drainage systems and supporting structures, gas appliances, flues, and pressure regulators.
  • Collaborate with clients and provide exceptional customer service, addressing their concerns and offering recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualification & experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial kitchen repair technician/gasfitter or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of various commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, as required.
  • At least 2 years of full time experience
  • Cert III or equivalent in related field
