We are seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Gardener to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas across a variety of sites. This role involves hands-on horticultural work including planting, pruning, mowing, irrigation management, and general grounds upkeep. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure outdoor spaces are presented to a high standard year-round.

Task & responsibilities
- Prepare sites for landscaping works, including soil preparation, excavation, levelling, and drainage installation.
- Plant and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and other garden features in accordance with project requirements.
- Construct and install landscaping structures such as paving, retaining walls, garden beds, pathways, irrigation systems, and decorative features.
- Operate and maintain landscaping tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply fertilizers, mulch, and soil conditioners to promote healthy plant growth.
- Monitor plant health and undertake weed, pest, and disease control activities where required.
- Carry out regular garden and landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, edging, trimming, watering, and rubbish removal.
- Ensure all landscaping works are completed in compliance with workplace health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with supervisors, team members, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Assist with material selection, loading/unloading, and site clean-up activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve landscape appearance, functionality, and sustainability.
Qualification & experience
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
- Minimum 1–2 years full-time experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
- Sound knowledge of plants, soils, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret landscaping plans and specifications.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- White Card and valid driver’s licence preferred.
