Vel Restaurant & Cafe in Carrum Downs VIC is seeking a multiple full time Cooks with the right attitude and passion for working with food with at least 1 years kitchen experience.

Salary of $78,000 – $88,000 + super for this full-time position. 

Task & responsibilities

As the Cook, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Equip the kitchen with necessary cooking tools and utensils such as pots, knives, chopping boards, and bowls to ensure a smooth operation and readiness to serve customers.
• Adapt to customers' special requests, such as reducing salt or omitting spices.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and employer to discuss special ideas and assist in menu design.
• Manage stocktaking and rotation using the FIFO method to minimize waste.
• Enforce food safety and hygiene procedures in the kitchen, cold room, and freezer.
• Work with other staff and front-of-house personnel to address and resolve customer complaints and feedback.
• Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, reorder supplies in a timely manner, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operational Procedures: Ensure smooth execution of opening and closing procedures for daily operational efficiency and safety.

Qualification & experience

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.

Cert III Commercial Cookery & Cert IV

Experience Requirement:

At least 1 years kitchen experience
