The role involves constructing, assembling, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures including footings, slabs, columns, beams, and walls in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. You will measure and set out materials, cut and shape timber, plywood, and other formwork materials, ensure structures are level, aligned, and securely braced, and safely strip formwork without compromising structural integrity. The position also requires the safe use of hand and power tools, adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, maintenance and repair of formwork systems, and close collaboration with supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

Task & responsibilities
- Construct, assemble, install, and dismantle formwork for foundations, walls, columns, beams, slabs, and other concrete structures.
- Interpret and work from drawings, plans, and specifications to build accurate formwork structures.
- Ensure all formwork is aligned, levelled, braced, and compliant with site safety and engineering requirements.
- Cut, shape, and assemble timber, plywood, and other materials to create formwork panels and supports.
- Install and strip formwork safely while protecting structural integrity.
- Measure, mark, and set out materials using appropriate tools and standards.
- Construct and install temporary structures and safety barriers as required.
- Use power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Repair and maintain formwork systems, timber structures, and supports.
- Follow building codes, construction standards, and company procedures.
Qualification & experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a Formwork Carpenter in construction projects.
- At least Certificate III in a relevant field is preferrable.
- Strong understanding of formwork systems (timber, conventional, or modular).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Competent with carpentry tools and equipment.
- White Card (required).
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-focused.
