Task & responsibilities

• Organizing the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment and fuel 
• Liaising with clients to determine requirements and providing customers with advice and information regarding vehicles, obligations and handling complaints 
• Receiving orders and bookings, and planning and implementing transportation schedule
•  Arranging collection and delivery of vehicles 
• Maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports 
• Oversee the hiring and training of drivers, and ensure that they are properly qualified and certified 
• Ensure that all drivers and operators have the correct, up to date qualification 
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations 
• Schedule daily and weekly fleet rosters 
• Track orders using functional systems (e.g. tracking software) 
• Monitor the performance of the transport fleet and identify areas for improvement
• Ensure daily and weekly documents are properly filed
• Report on maintenance and repair needs for vehicles and equipment
• Research and suggest cost-effective methods
• Conduct regular safety audits on trucks and agitators
• Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. Proper use of Agitators, Safety equipment’s and handling of hazardous
• Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
• Stay up to date with safety regulations, the latest technologies and trends in transport industry.

Qualification & experience

• Fleet management experience - Experience as a Fleet or Transport Manager.
• Fleet operations knowledge - Strong understanding of supply and fleet processes.
• Vehicle tracking - Skilled in preparing and tracking vehicles.
• Organisational skills - Excellent time‑management and coordination.
• Staff supervision - Able to supervise and train staff.
• Analytical skills - Strong problem‑solving ability.
• Quantitative ability - Comfortable with numbers.
•  Attention to detail - High accuracy in work.
• Interpersonal skills - Strong people skills.
• Communication skills - Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Diploma in Management - Holds a relevant management qualification.
