Fitter (General)

Key Responsibilities

As a Fitter (General), your duties will align with the ANZSCO 323211 occupational code and include:

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

Selecting and preparing metal stock and mechanical parts for assembly or repairs

Assembling and fitting components and systems using tools, torque equipment, and measuring devices

Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs on fluid handling systems and pressure equipment

Performing testing, alignment, and commissioning of assembled components or systems

Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating tools and machinery used in fitting operations

Maintaining accurate service logs and adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a Fitter in a mechanical, manufacturing, oil & gas, or similar technical industry

Proven ability to read engineering drawings and follow standard fitting procedures

Sound understanding of mechanical safety protocols and tools

Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade) preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
