J.H Borowski & J.J Borowski t/a Ironbark L&G is currently seeking a skilled and proactive Fitter (Agricultural Machinery) to join our operations in Coonamble, NSW where you will be primarily responsible for the following duties:

• Diagnostic & Fault Finding: Systematically identifying and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on tractors, harvesters, and high- pressure irrigation systems. 
• Preventative Maintenance: Performing scheduled technical servicing and safety inspections on diesel engines, transmissions, and steering systems to ensure operational safety and minimize downtime. 
• Welding & Fabrication: Utilizing professional-grade welding (MIG/MAG) and thermal cutting processes to modify or reinforce structural metal components and equipment attachments. 
• Component Overhaul: Dismantling and reassembling mechanical sub-assemblies, including gearboxes and hydraulic cylinders, ensuring all work was performed to precise operational tolerances. 
• Technical Documentation: Maintaining records of all maintenance work performed and managing the inventory of spare parts required for machinery repairs.

Qualification & Employment Experience Required

Relevant Certificate III or IV plus 2 years relevant experience OR 3 years relevant experience in substitute to the formal qualification

Skills Required

• Must be skilled at diagnosing and fixing the complex hydraulic systems used on tractors, harvesters, and irrigation gear.
• Have the ability to service and troubleshoot the heavy-duty diesel engines that power our farm fleet.
• Need strong welding and fabrication skills to repair wear and tear or structural damage on heavy farm implements.
• Must be able to read and interpret the specific technical manuals and diagrams provided by agricultural machinery manufacturers.
• Ability to accurately overhaul essential farm equipment parts, such as tractor gearboxes and PTO drives, to keep them field-ready.
