About the RoleReporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for the end-to-end transactional finance function, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled financial processing across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role responsible for:
Accounts payable and receivable
NDIS invoicing and payment reconciliation
Payroll processing
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records
Supporting compliance, audits and reporting

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable, Receivable & Reconciliations
Process supplier invoices and staff reimbursements
Monitor incoming payments and follow up outstanding receivables
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Investigate and resolve discrepancies
NDIS Billing & Revenue Management
Raise invoices for NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants
Submit and reconcile NDIS bulk claims ensuring accuracy and compliance
Maintain accurate billing data and produce operational reports
Payroll
Process fortnightly payroll using Employment Hero
Process superannuation and STP lodgements
Maintain payroll records and reconciliations
Finance Administration & Compliance
Manage the finance inbox and respond to routine queries
Assist with BAS/IAS preparation, audits and compliance reporting
Maintain strong financial controls and documentation
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve systems, streamline processes and strengthen financial controls.
Contribute to the ongoing development of finance processes as the organisation builds its internal capability
You are a reliable and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, finance or accounting roles
Qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting or a related field
Proven ability to manage end-to-end transactional finance
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience with payroll systems (experience with Employment Hero highly regarded)
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Experience working in the NDIS, disability, health or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded.
