Our Family Wellbeing Program focuses on supporting children, young people, and families through culturally appropriate, strengths-based services that empower families to thrive and keep children safe at home.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Family Wellbeing Officer to join our team and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families within the community.
About the RoleThe Family Wellbeing Officer provides culturally appropriate support and case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and their families.
Working closely with the Family Wellbeing Coordinator and other service providers, the role supports families through early intervention, advocacy, and case planning to strengthen family capacity, improve parenting skills, and support positive outcomes for children and young people.
This position plays an important role in building trust with families and connecting them with services that support their wellbeing.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide culturally appropriate support and intervention strategies to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
Undertake client assessments and develop case plans in line with approved case management protocol
Work with families to monitor and review case plan goals and support positive outcomes
Advocate for clients and assist them to access services and supports
Facilitate case reviews, evaluations, and exit strategies for clients
Build strong relationships with internal and external service providers to support referral pathways and shared case management
Maintain accurate documentation and collect relevant data for program reporting
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting families and strengthening community wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have:
Certificate IV in Community Services (Protective Care), Diploma in Community Services, or willingness to obtain
Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities
Knowledge or experience in case management and working with families with complex needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or ability to obtain
Proof of immunisation or non-susceptibility to Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) in line with organisational requirements
