Task & responsibilities

• Provide person-centred nursing care to clients with mental health conditions, chronic illness, disabilities or age-related health needs in home, community settings, supported accomodation and aged care environments.
• Work under the direction and deligation of a Registered Nurse, delivering care within the scope of practice and organisational policies.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately and monitor their effectiveness.
• Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and client responses, promptly reporting any changes in condition.
• Assist with care planning, help develop, implement, and review individual care and NDIS Support plans.
• Offer mental health and emotional Support, helping clients to manage stress, cries, and behavioural challenges.
• Promote recovery and wellbeing through education, health promotion and lifestyle guidance.
• Support daily living activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and community particiaption when required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ensure a safe environment
• Uphold professional ethics and legal responsibilities.

Qualification & experience

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of Diploma of  or equivalent qualification, including a current AHPRA registration
• Experience in aged care and Acute Mental Health (At least 12 months full time or part time equivalent)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• AHPRA registration 
• Previous experience and qualifications in mental health nursing will be highly regarded.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to providing holistic care.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First aid Certificate
• Current Manual handling Certificate
