The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and practical Engineering Manager to lead Pro-Torque’s engineering function across our national fuel infrastructure and maintenance portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Director, this role is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering governance, and assurance across capital works and operational maintenance projects.
This is not a desk-only engineering role.
We are looking for someone who can bridge strategic engineering oversight with practical field delivery. Someone who can provide clear technical direction, support project teams under pressure, and ensure engineering outcomes are safe, compliant, efficient, and buildable in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering governance, standards, and technical assurance across projects
Review and approve engineering deliverables including MDRs, ITPs, QA packs, reports, drawings, and commissioning documentation
Support project and operational teams with practical engineering guidance
Provide engineering input into risk assessments, Management of Change (MoC), and incident investigations
Drive continuous improvement across engineering systems, workflows, and documentation
Mentor and develop engineering capability within the business
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client requirements
Support constructability reviews and technical problem-solving during project delivery
About You
You are a calm, capable, and solutions-focused engineering leader who takes ownership and leads with integrity.
You bring strong technical judgement, practical industry experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with both field teams and senior stakeholders.
Ideally, you will have:
Essential
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)
Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or working towards
Minimum 8 years’ experience within fuel, hazardous area, or regulated industrial environments
Demonstrated engineering leadership experience
Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards including AS 1940, AS 4775, AS 1851, AS 1100, and AS 3000
Construction White Card
Current Driver’s Licence
Highly Regarded
Experience supporting F.E.E.D and early project engagement
Brownfield maintenance and asset integrity experience
Client-facing technical leadership experience
Exposure to operational maintenance environments
RPEQ Sign off Capabilities
