Pro-Torque | Fuel Infrastructure & Maintenance Projects

About Us

Pro-Torque is an Australian fuel infrastructure specialist delivering engineering, maintenance, and project services across complex, high-risk environments nationwide. We partner with major fuel asset owners and operators to deliver safe, compliant, and practical outcomes across critical infrastructure projects.

Built from hands-on industry experience, Pro-Torque combines ground-level operational knowledge with strategic project delivery expertise. We are known for simplifying complexity, delivering with precision, and maintaining high standards across safety, compliance, and execution.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and practical Engineering Manager to lead Pro-Torque’s engineering function across our national fuel infrastructure and maintenance portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Director, this role is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering governance, and assurance across capital works and operational maintenance projects.

This is not a desk-only engineering role.

We are looking for someone who can bridge strategic engineering oversight with practical field delivery. Someone who can provide clear technical direction, support project teams under pressure, and ensure engineering outcomes are safe, compliant, efficient, and buildable in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering governance, standards, and technical assurance across projects

  • Review and approve engineering deliverables including MDRs, ITPs, QA packs, reports, drawings, and commissioning documentation

  • Support project and operational teams with practical engineering guidance

  • Provide engineering input into risk assessments, Management of Change (MoC), and incident investigations

  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering systems, workflows, and documentation

  • Mentor and develop engineering capability within the business

  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client requirements

  • Support constructability reviews and technical problem-solving during project delivery

About You

You are a calm, capable, and solutions-focused engineering leader who takes ownership and leads with integrity.

You bring strong technical judgement, practical industry experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with both field teams and senior stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have:

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)

  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or working towards

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience within fuel, hazardous area, or regulated industrial environments

  • Demonstrated engineering leadership experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards including AS 1940, AS 4775, AS 1851, AS 1100, and AS 3000

  • Construction White Card

  • Current Driver’s Licence

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting F.E.E.D and early project engagement

  • Brownfield maintenance and asset integrity experience

  • Client-facing technical leadership experience

  • Exposure to operational maintenance environments

  • RPEQ Sign off Capabilities

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape and lead the engineering function within a growing national business

  • Diverse and technically challenging fuel infrastructure projects

  • Strong team culture built on accountability, mateship, and delivery

  • Career growth and leadership opportunities

  • Exposure to strategic projects across critical infrastructure sectors

  • Competitive salary package and flexible work arrangements where practical
