Hudson is partnering with a global software organisation in the retail sector used across thousands of stores worldwide.

They are hiring for a sharp Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional engineering teams delivering high-volume, transaction-critical products, self-service, mobile, and retail operations platforms.

This is an opportunity to join a business shifting toward a modern engineering-led operating model where Engineering owns delivery end to end.

What they’re looking for:
• A current Engineering Manager that has strong software engineering foundations with experience delivering production systems at scale
• Previous leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or senior engineer owning delivery outcomes
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, SDLC, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
• Ability to lead technical discussions while communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced and evolving environments, navigating ambiguity and a start up set up
• Someone that commercially applying AI tooling in engineering workflows, CI/CD, delivery, and productivity improvements

Tech environment includes:
Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, MongoDB

Bonus points for:
• Retail or transaction-heavy platform experience
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tooling or agentic engineering workflows
• Experience leading distributed teams
