EMPLOYEE DRIVER
 
We're a logistics company dedicated to the medical/ healthcare industry whose clients include some of the world's largest healthcare providers. As a result, we pride ourselves on doing "whatever it takes" for our patients and customers as one failed delivery is one too many.
 
ABOUT THE ROLE
 
Every service Smartways provides leads to a positive outcome for patients. To enable the best service possible and ensuring we make a difference to these patient lives, we are seeking a Casual Employee Driver in Newcastle for 2 x afternoon shifts per week.
Although it's a fast paced and varied no two days are the same, a typical day will see you:

• Collect and deliver medical items on time;
• Requires you to be available from 2pm until midnight at least 2 nights a week (and flexibility to cover sick leave/annual leave);
• You will be available to cover East coast from Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle, Port Mac, Coffs Harbour & Grafton and West as far as Dubbo, Tamworth & Armidale completing multi-drop deliveries;
• Liaise and build relationships with customers (existing and new);
• Proactively manage the return of loaned medical goods;
• Prepare freight for transport via third parties;
• Inspect, pick and pack customer orders with accuracy (when required).

 WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Our ideal candidate will jump at every opportunity to deliver an excellent customer experience;
• You have exceptional knowledge of the Sydney/Newcastle region and therefore know the fastest route from pick-up to drop-off;
• You have excellent work ethic and understand the importance of working together as one team;
• You're comfortable with technology and know your way around a computer/ phone;
• You've got excellent customer service skills and treat each job with great care.

 WHAT TOOLS ARE REQUIRED?

• Full License (more than 5 years) with clean driving record;
• Have the legal right to work in Australia;
• Flexible availability required, although most shifts will have set days;
• Physical fitness essential for manual loading and unloading of freight;
• Professional and presentable appearance required for deliveries to hospital areas;
• Previous delivery experience preferred, knowledge of Newcastle & North Sydney Areas beneficial but not essential.
