About the role

This isn't just another roofing gig.

Every system we put on a roof is part of getting another household to a zero bill. That only works if the install is done properly, weatherproof, and built to the high standards we carry. That's where you come in.

You'll be on the roof across a steady pipeline of residential solar and battery jobs — laying out arrays, fixing rails, flashing penetrations properly, and mounting panels. You'll work alongside a tight-knit team that gets the job done right the first time and stands behind it for the long haul.

• Sees problems and fixes them before they become callbacks

• Takes ownership of the roof from set-up to pack-down

Your role and responsibilities

Delivering high-quality install work on the roof

• Erecting edge protection and/or harness anchor points

• Mounting brackets, rails, cabling, on tile, tin, Klip-Lok and standing seam roofs

• Weatherproof penetrations and flashings done right the first time

• Panel installation to manufacturer spec and CEC guidelines

• Photos and documentation as required

Owning the job from start to finish

• Communicate clearly with the electrician on the job and with the customer

• Keep the install on time and to scope

• Leave the roof, gutters, and site cleaner than you found them

Representing the SJ Power standard

• Look after the customer's home like it's your own

• Uphold our reputation for quality and reliability

• Support and mentor newer team members where needed

Experience required

• Solid solar install experience on residential roofs

• Working at Heights ticket (current)

• White Card

• Confident with harness systems and edge protection

• Strong problem-solving on the roof — odd rafter spacings, awkward layouts, dodgy existing flashings

• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Valid driver's licence

• A proactive, can-do attitude
