Help us deliver like never before
The world is changing fast, and so are we. In this role, you’ll be right where the action is, working hands on with advanced machinery and cutting‑edge technology that keeps our operations running smoothly. You’ll help keep our automated systems performing at their best, so that we can deliver efficiently and reliably across the country. Bring your electrical and mechanical know‑how to a team powering the next generation of automated processing!
About the opportunity
As our Maintenance Technician you’ll be directly reporting into the Technical Manager & Leads. You’ll be responsible for conducting maintenance activities associated with the Mail Processing Equipment, such as corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance, as well as improving reliability. You may also be required to use SAP, to process stock orders and ensure all plant and material maintenance transactions are accurately recorded.
This position will be offered on a 12-month fixed term, with a possibility to continue longer term.
About the facility
As part of the Western Australia Technical Services team, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping Australia Post’s critical processing equipment running across three key sites: the Perth Parcel Facility (Welshpool), the Perth Mail Centre (Airport) and Lee Close (Airport). Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you’ll support operations spanning more than 24,000 square metres at PPF alone—processing up to 15,000 parcels per hour during peak periods (like Christmas), or up to 350,000 parcels per day. Technicians travel between sites as required, collaborating with a skilled team.
The type of machinery you can expect to be working on at this facility is automation systems and conveyers controlled by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). Including Network communications and digital address recognition computer systems, and other modern technology.
