MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees has partnered again with Bengalla Mining Company to recruit motivated and enthusiastic local candidates for its annual apprenticeship intake.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor at Bengalla Mining Company, you will be supported by qualified tradespeople over a four-year apprenticeship, gaining hands-on experience and valuable electrical skills within the mining industry.
Your key responsibilities will include electrical repairs, maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics, and component change-outs across both field and workshop environments.
You will also assist with installing wiring, circuits and insulated cables, connecting switches and outlets, performing high-voltage switching, and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and process control infrastructure.
As part of the maintenance team, you will contribute to the safe, efficient and continuous operation of assets across a 24-hour, 7-day open-cut mine site.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will become a qualified Electrician and achieve a nationally recognised qualification, UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
We are looking for motivated candidates with strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in building a long-term career in the mining industry.
Applicants who hold a Certificate II pre-vocational qualification in an electrical field, or who have relevant paid or volunteer experience, will be highly regarded.

All Bengalla Mining Company apprentices complete a six-month Mining Skills Program at the Centre in conjunction with TAFE Hunter, developing valuable technical capability in areas such as welding, electrical and automotive, along with training in financial awareness, health and nutrition, personal fitness, communication skills and road safety awareness.
