About the role:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on individual to join our Maintenance team as an Electrical Apprentice.

This is a great opportunity to build a long-term career while working alongside qualified Electricians in a highly specialised and secure manufacturing environment.

The apprenticeship is a four-year program where you’ll gain practical experience across breakdown repairs, planned, preventive & predictive maintenance, and project work, all within a supportive and safety-focused environment. You will be required to attend trade school at Kangan Tafe, Broadmeadows as required to complete your units and assessments.

As part of this role, you will complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology, leading to an A Grade Electrical Licence.

The ideal candidate will have completed VCE (Year 12 equivalent) and an Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship (Certificate II in Electrotechnology).

Over the course of your apprenticeship, your key responsibilities will grow as your skills and knowledge develop. Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Assist qualified Electricians with breakdown response and maintenance activities

  • Complete allocated tasks under supervision, including preparation of tools and materials

  • Support job preparation and close-out activities, including reading basic electrical drawings, identifying parts, and completing job records

  • Participate in planned maintenance and machine servicing activities

  • Safely operate tools and equipment when trained and authorised

  • Assist with spare parts management and maintenance planning processes

  • Support installation, modification, and improvement work for electrical systems and equipment

About You

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and committed to developing a career as a qualified Electrician. You will demonstrate:

  •  Completion of VCE (year 12 equivalent) preferred but not essential

  • Completion of a Pre-Apprenticeship (Certificate II in Electrotechnology) preferred but not essential

  • A genuine interest in electrical maintenance and commitment to completing an apprenticeship

  • Strong practical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • A positive, team-focused attitude with good communication skills

  • Good literacy and numeracy (VCE or equivalent preferred)

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and security

  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
