Paterson Valley Community Preschool is a not‑for‑profit, 27‑place preschool located on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People. We operate during school terms (41 weeks per year) from 8:15 am to 4:15 pm and are managed by a dedicated parent management committee and an experienced director. As an Exceeding service, we are committed to maintaining high‑quality practice and meaningful, responsive relationships with children, families, and our wider community.
Our program is guided by our philosophy, the EYLF, and a strong connection to our natural environment. We provide a nurturing, play‑rich, inquiry‑based learning environment that supports each child holistically.
The Role
Paterson Valley Community Preschool is seeking a full‑time, permanent Educator (Certificate III or Diploma) to work 5 days per week. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a high‑quality early childhood program that reflects our philosophy, values, and policies.
As a key member of our collaborative teaching team, the Educator will help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children aged 3–5.
Essential Criteria
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Child Protection Training and National Child Safety Training (or completion within 14 days of commencing)
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012)
Understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and NQF
Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and National Regulations (2011)
Ability to contribute to planning, documentation, and reflection using EYLF v2
Knowledge of the National Quality Standard and commitment to continuous improvement
Experience working with children aged 3–5 in a preschool or long day care setting
Excellent communication skills
Sound computer literacy
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Two current workplace referees
Desirable Criteria
Experience in a community‑based or not‑for‑profit early childhood service
Ability to contribute to a collaborative team culture, including reflective practice and shared decision‑making
Understanding of inclusive practices and supporting children with diverse needs, backgrounds, and abilities
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and staying current with best practice
