Disability Support Worker

Newlight Ability Services Pty Ltd is seeking dedicated support workers to join our team. We have our head office in Kelmscott , WA 6111 and we provide services to our clients in the whole metropoltan region of Perth. You will be asked to provide services at one of our facilities in Perth region. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities. Your tasks will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate nature. Task & responsibilities

• Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals
• Promote independence and social inclusion
• Provide daily living assistance and personal care (e.g. hygiene, grooming, dressing)
• Support clients with mobility and safe transfers
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding where required
• Assist with medication reminders and support routines
• Carry out light household duties (e.g. cleaning, laundry, vacuuming)
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Accompany clients to shopping trips, appointments, and community outings
• Facilitate participation in recreational and social activities
• Monitor client wellbeing and promptly report any concerns to supervisors

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a support worker or similar caregiving role
• Excellent communication skills
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Strong understanding of NDIS standards and person-centred care
