Guthrie Child Care Centre is a beautifully located, highly regarded Tresillian based, 42 place Long Day Care Centre; rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards. Guthrie operates from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday for 49 weeks per year, closing over the Christmas period. Just a 2 minute walk from Wollstonecraft train station (which is only a 10 minute train trip from the city), Guthrie is very accessible by public transport. It has an excellent reputation in the local community for its spacious outdoor area, active parent network, award winning garden, sustainable practices, high staff-child ratios, low staff turnover and quality trained staff.
We are seeking two energetic Early Childhood Educators with a Diploma qualification, for the following permanent part-time positions
Role 1: working Monday and Tuesday, in the 0+1 years room, team teaching with a second educator to deliver a high quality education and care program to 4 children per day.
Role 2: working Thursday and Fridays during the hours 11:30am to 5:30pm, working with children aged 0-6 years in a floating role.
There is potential to combine the two roles for the right applicant or for either role to work additional hours during times of educator absences if the successful applicant is interested.
Working closely with the Centre Director and team teaching with supportive, highly experienced early childhood professionals you will be contributing to the delivery of a high-quality education and care program for children at the Centre. Guthrie employs above the minimum qualification requirements and educators are supported with professional growth and training. Essential Criteria:
· Diploma in Early Education and Care Services (or equivalent recognised by ACECQA).
· A current Working with Children Check
· A Current and approved First Aid Certificate, inclusive of annual CPR component, and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management training.
· A current and approved Child Protection Certificate and approved Child Safety Certificate or willing to obtain one
· A current Food Handling certificate or willing to obtain one
· Previous experience working with children aged 0-6 years, demonstrating knowledge of and an ability to apply the Early Years Learning Framework to programming and planning for children’s development.
· Knowledge and understanding of current Education and Care Legislation, National Regulations and the National Quality Standard and an ability to apply this to daily practice
· Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as autonomously where you demonstrate time management and organisation skills.
· High level interpersonal skills where you showcase excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative and problem-solving ability
· Understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Practices, High Quality education and Care and Centre Improvement.
