Digital Strategist – Growth (Business Development Manager)

The role sits at the intersection of business development, marketing strategy and account leadership,translating client commercial objectives into integrated digital programs that deliver measurable return on investment. The successful candidate will own the full business development lifecycle – from market research and lead generation through to proposal development, contract negotiation, onboarding and strategic account growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Research, identify and qualify new business opportunities across priority verticals, building a sustainable pipeline of qualified prospects aligned with the agency's commercial targets.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles for digital marketing engagements, including discovery, scoping, proposal development, pitching, negotiation and contract execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with C-suite, marketing and ecommerce decision-makers across mid-market and enterprise organisations.
  • Represent Orange Digital at industry events, networking forums, conferences and speaking engagements to enhance market presence and generate inbound demand.

Digital Strategy & Solution Design

  • Conduct in-depth diagnostic assessments of prospective clients' digital ecosystems, including websites, paid media accounts, organic search performance, marketing automation and analytics infrastructure.
  • Pitch integrated, multi-channel digital growth strategies covering SEO, SEM, paid social, content marketing, email and conversion rate optimisation.
  • Develop bespoke commercial proposals, statements of work, media plans and forecasts that articulate clear performance KPIs, projected return on ad spend and customer acquisition cost benchmarks.
  • Translate complex marketing technology and analytics concepts into clear, compelling commercial narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

Market Research & Insight

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, platform updates and emerging digital technologies, distilling insights into actionable strategy recommendations.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of clients' competitive landscapes, conducting market sizing, share-of-voice analysis and audience segmentation studies to inform growth plans.
  • Contribute to the development of Orange Digital's intellectual property, including frameworks, white papers, case studies and thought leadership content.

Account Growth & Client Leadership

  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure newly onboarded clients are transitioned smoothly and that strategic intent is faithfully executed across campaign delivery.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts and lead the strategic conversations required to grow scope, retainers and long-term client lifetime value.
  • Act as senior strategic advisor to nominated key accounts, hosting quarterly business reviews and presenting to client executive teams.

Commercial & Operational Management

  • Forecast monthly and quarterly revenue, maintain accurate pipeline and activity reporting in the agency's CRM, and meet or exceed agreed sales targets.
  • Develop pricing models, retainer structures and commercial terms that balance client value with sustainable agency margin.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations and finance functions to refine the agency's go-to-market positioning, packaged service offerings and proposal templates.
  • Mentor existing SDR (sales development representative), contributing to a high-performance culture and building organisational capability.
