Frankland Estate is seeking a passionate, collaborative and focussed Vineyard Manager to manage, execute, and oversee all aspects of vineyard operations full time at our organic-certified vineyard in Frankland River, WA.

This pivotal role is focused on ensuring that Frankland Estate vineyards deliver premium organic fruit using best-practice viticultural methodologies. The Vineyard Manager will take responsibility for both the performance of day-to-day operations and the supervision of contractors and seasonal workers to meet strategic and seasonal priorities.

You will report to the General Manager/Director and work closely with our close-knit team. This is a hands-on position that includes overseeing the execution of existing operational plans while also contributing to long-term vineyard development, budget management, and the continuous improvement of vineyard practices. This role provides significant autonomy and scope to influence outcomes and be recognised for your impact.

The salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 is exclusive of superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement vineyard programs to support production targets and organic certification requirements.
  • Monitor vine phenology, crop development, and overall vine health including pest and disease status.
  • Conduct seasonal assessments including crop estimates, maturity monitoring, irrigation scheduling, and harvest planning.
  • Lead and participate in vineyard operations including pruning, canopy management, irrigation and trellis repairs, spraying, mowing, and other mechanical/manual tasks.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and invoice approvals; support financial planning through data-based decision-making.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety compliance through documented procedures, staff training, and operational oversight.
  • Coordinate seasonal goals including fruit quality/yield targets, fruit sales management, and contractor relationships.
  • Contribute to long-term vineyard planning and renewal to meet sustainability, production, and financial objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records (e.g., spray diaries, crop data, monitoring logs, soil and tissue tests, harvest data).
  • Build relationships with external grape growers and industry contacts.
  • Represent the company at industry events as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum five years of vineyard management experience, ideally in organic or biodynamic systems.
  • Formal qualifications in Viticulture or Horticulture will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver operational outcomes while thinking strategically.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with vineyard machinery and equipment.
  • Commercial mindset with an eye for quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • An appreciation for premium wine production and familiarity with fine wine brands is a plus.
