We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
The Dooralong Transformation Centre is Australia's largest drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation centre providing residential support services in an abstinence based, drug-free environment.
About The Role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Casual Support Worker to provide effective support to clients at the Dooralong Transformation Centre.
This is a Casual position based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3 . The successful applicant will be reporting to the Team Leader.
You will successfully
Provide a safe and welcoming environment ensuring participant's immediate & basic needs are met and rights upheld.Implement risk management plans including preventative actions and mitigation strategies.Facilitate daily program of activities which model and foster participation & skills.Support participant self-determination, sense of safety and stability, through applied recovery oriented, person centred, strengths based and trauma informed practice skills.Work collaboratively with other staff teams to support participants to action treatment goals as per case plans.Assist participants to access community support & services.Monitor safety of participants and activities.Assist with other tasks as required, which may include, light cleaning, preparing rooms for new participants and transporting participants to appointments.Supervise the self- administration of medication.
You will have
A current and valid First Aid Certificate.A current and valid NSW Driver Licence.Minimum Certificate 4 qualification relevant to the work performed and or equivalent previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training.Experience working with people with AOD and Co-occurring issues.AOD Certificate 4 Core unit AOD Skill set or willingness to undertake if required.
