As a Storeperson at Lhere Artepe Supermarkets, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient stock control and inventory processes across our stores. This hands-on position supports our mission to empower the Arrernte community and contribute to benevolent relief through reliable, community-focused service and sustainable operations.
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Storeperson ensures all goods are received, organised, stored, and replenished accurately and safely. This is a full-time, ongoing position that contributes to our strategic focus on community support, operational excellence, and Indigenous employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods and deliveries from suppliers
- Verify accuracy against invoices and report discrepancies
- Follow quality assurance procedures and standards for incoming goods
Inventory and Stock Control:
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records using appropriate systems
- Assist with stocktakes and cycle counts to maintain accurate reporting
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimise spoilage
- Report on stock discrepancies and low stock levels promptly
Organisation and Logistics:
- Keep storerooms and back dock areas clean, safe, and organised
- Label and store stock in a systematic, accessible manner
- Prepare stock for timely shelf replenishment
- Operate forklifts or pallet jacks where required (with valid licence)
Replenishment and Merchandising:
- Monitor stock levels on the sales floor and replenish as required
- Ensure product rotation and correct placement to meet merchandising standards
- Support front-of-house teams in achieving optimal presentation and availability
Safety, Compliance and Maintenance:
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures in stock handling and storage
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Team Support and Customer Service:
- Work closely with other departments to meet store-wide operational needs
- Assist customers courteously when approached
- Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace aligned with LAE’s values
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy of stock received and recorded
- Timeliness of replenishment and stock availability
- Cleanliness and organisation of back dock and storage areas
- Adherence to WHS standards and incident-free performance
- Team contribution and cultural fit
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Physically fit with the ability to undertake manual handling tasks
- Basic computer literacy (inventory or POS systems)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays, if required
Desirable:
- Prior experience in a storeperson or warehousing role
- Current forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Retail or supermarket experience
- Knowledge of workplace safety and inventory protocols
Position Conditions (DAMA-Aligned):
- This is a full-time, permanent position (minimum 38 hours/week)

- The position is based in Alice Springs, NT, and supports relocation/settlement if needed
