Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey. About The Role We are seeking a values-driven Afterhours Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, This position will provide afterhours family violence crisis response, outreach, and other support to victim survivors in crisis accommodation, refuges or in the community, who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family violence. Reporting to the Team Leader this is a Part Time (19 hours per week) role, located in Coburg North, Vic. You will successfully Building effective relationships with victim survivors that encourage self-determination and participation, while upholding the principles of the National Family Violence Model of CareProviding case management and crisis support to victim survivors, ensuring it aligns with TSA's case management models and standards of practice.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and discuss risk management strategies with victim survivors, including a detailed safety plan tailored to the client’s situationFacilitate the placement of victim survivors in emergency accommodation when assessed as necessary.Receive, triage, and prioritise after-hours referrals, primarily from the state-wide 24/7 crisis service, as well as from other specialised violence services in the North, law enforcement, and hospitals.provide information/advice, material aid, incidental counselling, emotional support and warm referrals to internal and external servicesProvide information, advice, material aid, incidental counselling, emotional support, and warm referrals to both internal and external services. Conditions Compensation is in accordance with SHADS social and community services award Level 5. $49.28 - $50.40 hourly + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties, allowances, NFP salary packaging.
