Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'. Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdictions own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly. The Security and Emergency Management Group (SEMG) is responsible for management of the Court Security Officer (CSO) contract and other security functions. SEMG has responsibility for driving policy, procedures, compliance and maturation of emergency management and business continuity practices across CSV. About The Role Situated in the Security and Emergency Management Group within the CSV Deputy Chief Executive Officer's portfolio, the Senior Security Adviser is a senior leadership role responsible for assisting the jurisdictions and Built Environment with specialist security advice, focused primarily on matters related to physical security infrastructure. The role has a critical function in ensuring that security measures are effectively integrated into CSV's physical environment by overseeing and advising on projects related to the development, enhancement, or replacement of physical security infrastructure. It ensures that CSV's physical security measures are up-to-date, and aligned with CSV's Physical Security Framework, Standards and policies. Key Responsibilities Include Conducting comprehensive security risk assessments of CSV sites as required to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and potential threats and develop strategies and plans to mitigate these risks effectively.Providing authoritative and specialist security advice and recommendations on infrastructure projects to jurisdictions, Built Environment and Major Projects aligned with the CSV's Physical Security Framework, Standards and policies.Conducting witness testing of security systems to ensure they operate in accordance with CSV Physical Security Standards and Technical Specifications.Verifying that the systems meet their intended objectives and performance requirements.Leading physical security related projects that drive continuous improvement in the provision of safe and secure environment for its staff, judicial officers, court users, facilities, and assets, negotiating key elements with jurisdictions and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.Contributing to the development and maintenance of key foundational documents underpinning CSV's physical security environment, promoting best practice requirements and operational consistency across jurisdictions and sites.Providing timely high-level submissions, reports and briefings containing thorough analysis and recommendations (based on research, best practice and data collection) for senior management on sensitive, complex and confidential security related matters.
