About the role
As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, you will support the team with research, analysis and develop a comprehensive database of client/industry specific information, ideas and solutions. You will undertake financial modelling and analysis and assess the risks/opportunities on existing lending, as well as the risks associated with client requests to vary their facilities.
You will play a pivotal role in assisting the Portfolio Managers with the management of the portfolio, including loan and facility administration, risk management, compliance together with strategy planning and implementation, and client relationships once the facility has been executed.
Key responsibilities
Financial modelling and analysis relating to existing Housing Australia clientsPrepare credit submissions for annual reviews, new client requests/amendments, coordination of deal execution through documentation and funding/completionManage the portfolio’s data quality, compliance and reporting requirements such as annual reviews, covenant dates and other conditions subsequentPerformance monitoring and annual reviews for existing clients, and reporting of client financial and operational performance to Risk ManagementBuild and maintain effective working relationships with the Legal, Credit Assessment, Valuations and Finance teamsStructure and clearly articulate the credit merits of a transaction, including identifying and mitigating key risksEnsure compliance of client covenant and reporting obligations
Skills and experience
At least 3- 5 years’ experience in banking and finance in property and/or commercial banking creditStrong understanding of balance sheets, P&L, structuring of loans, securities and financial productsExperience in the financing of community housing and / or knowledge of the regulatory environment in relation to community housing will be desirableStrong analytical and numeracy skills, with the ability to use computer spreadsheets and other PC packages including advanced excel skills (financial modelling)Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and key stakeholders e.g. credit department, legal team, etc. Client service experience ideally in a Commercial or Business banking environment Well-developed financial analysis and modelling skills Ability to quickly grasp complex transactions, and ideally have previous client contact and management experience.Tertiary qualifications in Business/Finance and/or Commerce
