Project Estimator – Construction

Trill Tiling Commercial Pty Ltd is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Estimator-Construction to join our team in Archerfield, Queensland.

We offer an annual basic salary of $90,000 plus superannuation. The successful candidate will also be entitled to other benefits provided under the law. 

Task & responsibilities

The Project Estimator-Construction role will perform duties and responsibilities, including the following: 

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, plans and other documentation for construction project quotes and tenders
• Provide estimates on required labour, materials and equipment, and present projected timelines for accurate tenders  
• Liaise with architects, engineers, surveyors and managers in planning and organising construction projects
• Analyse project plans, specifications and other documentation to determine the scope of work and project requirements
• Maintain positive relationship with clients, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to remain within projected estimates
• Enforce contractual responsibilities; identify and report any issue or dispute to the project manager and assist in their resolution   
• Continuously monitor project progress to determine project spending against budget, identify potential cost overruns, and implement cost-saving measures
• Prepare cost and expenditure reports at regular intervals of ongoing projects 
• Collect and analyse data to achieve cost savings, improve future estimates, and identify cost-saving opportunities to demonstrate the value of current and future construction projects
• Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to clients and project teams to develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules and resource allocation
• Assist in the preparation of project financial reports, actual cost reviews, quantity reporting, submission and RFI records, and change order records (including scope and cost calculations)
• Observe and comply with construction industry regulations and standards

Qualification & experience

The successful candidate must have the following:

• AQF Diploma or higher, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience    
• Knowledge of the construction industry
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and documents
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software
• Proactive with ability to work as part of a busy team
• Exceptional time and file management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent Problem-solving skills
