Opie Manufacturing Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to take ownership of our direct procurement processes and supplier relationships, both locally and internationally. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost effective acquisition of goods and services required for our manufacturing operations.

Task & responsibilities
- Manage direct procurement processes, including the purchasing or obtaining of raw materials, resources, goods, and services for manufactured goods.
- Direct management of all foreign suppliers.
- Foreign supplier quality audits and quality management conducted both at office and at Supplier sites.
- Creating RFQs and overseeing competitive bidding cycles
- Evaluating and strategic sourcing of potential suppliers
- Negotiating contracts with vendors to secure the best deals and terms
- Maintaining advantageous relationships with suppliers and managing disputes
- Monitoring supplier performance for optimal business operations performance
- Ensuring the timeliness and effectiveness of goods and services
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure procurement needs are met
- Finalising purchase details and approving purchase requests and purchase orders
- Tracking key metrics and KPIs to reduce costs
- Compiling reports for the Managing Director
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws
- Incorporating new procurement software, e-procurement processes, and business processes where necessary
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and managing The Modern slavery compliance.
Qualification & experience
- Must have strong sourcing and procurement background
- Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
- Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Formal degree is not essential, but minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role is.
- Product Manufacturing Industry Experience.
- Product packaging experience.
- International shipping experience.
Preferred but not essential:
- Ability to speak both Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Local knowledge of the Chinese County for metal products
- A clear understanding of local laws and employment practices.
