THE ROLE


The Principal Land and Property Adviser role presents a challenging and rewarding opportunity to help deliver the $5.3 billion Big Housing Build, Australia's largest-ever investment in social and affordable housing. This role's key focus is the advancement of social and affordable housing projects through management of funding allocation, which includes redevelopment of surplus or underutilised government land to support high priority programs including the High-rise Redevelopment Program.

You will lead the identification and assessment of potential development sites through detailed analysis and undertake due diligence and feasibility assessments. You will apply your significant technical expertise and experience identifying land assembly requirements, assessing commercial feasibility, managing risks and applying the requirements of the Victorian Government Land Transaction Policy. You will lead strategic and operational stakeholder engagement with landholding agencies.

Significant expertise and skills in property analysis, including understanding of redevelopment and commercial feasibility drivers, including title and planning matters is required. A proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement, particularly with state government landholding agencies, is key. Project management skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to create and maintain accurate records.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE


  • Identify and assess potential sites relating to the Big Housing Build program, with a focus on surplus or under-utilised government land through managing complex assessments to assess feasibility of development options.
  • Provide strategic analysis and advice to develop the property portfolio pipeline in the short, medium and long term, including funding and approval requirements.
  • Database oversight and management of land and property details, including risk, stakeholder and due diligence register.
