Painting Trades Worker

GILL PRESTIGE PAINTING PTY LTD is seeking a hardworking, efficient, experienced, and reliable PAINTER who is ready to join our efficient work environment in Victoria. We work around Tarneit, Werribee, Wyndham Vale, Geelong, Melton, Caroline Springs, Melbourne City and the surrounding suburbs of Melbourne. 

Working Hours and Days:  7:30 am to 4.00 pm (Monday to Sunday)

Task & responsibilities

• Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing protective coverings such as drop sheets to safeguard surrounding areas from paint splatter.
• Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, sanding, smoothing, and sealing surfaces for a flawless finish.
• Selecting, mixing, and preparing paints to the required colour and consistency using pigments, oils, and appropriate additives.
• Applying paints, varnishes, stains, and sealants to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns, and neatly trimming edges.
• Performing minor repairs, including woodwork touch-ups, window frame maintenance, and glass replacement.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency

Qualification & experience

a) Should have academic qualifications in painting (Certificate III or further) 

b) At least two years of previous work experience as a painter 

c)Early/Quick start required

d) Should be able to work independently, efficiently and in work-pressure situations

A successful applicant should be: 

• The applicant should have a driver’s licence and be able to travel in his own vehicle as per the work requirement and location of work. 
• Construction Induction card required
• Police check required 
• Experienced- Time efficient –Able to maintain a high standard -Reliable -Good communicator.
