We are currently seeking a skilled Painter to take on a hands-on role in preparing, finishing, and detailing bespoke elements used in events and installations across Australia.

Task & responsibilities

• Set up safe, tidy work areas using ladders or temporary platforms when needed, protecting adjacent elements before work begins.
• Prepare surfaces such as wood, metal, plastics, and custom materials by stripping old finishes, filling cracks, and sanding.
• Mix paints and coatings to exact specifications using acrylics, enamels, stains, and other finishes.
• Apply base coats, decorative layers, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
• Execute design detailing such as colour blocking, faux finishes, texture, wallpaper, and decal application according to creative briefs.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace including proper tool maintenance and safe waste disposal.
• Perform minor repairs such as paint touch-ups, trim replacements, and final fitting of painted pieces.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
• Minimum 1 year of full-time relevant experience in a professional painting role
• Demonstrated skills in surface prep and high-quality paint application
• Competence with spray-painting equipment and hand tools
• High attention to detail and quality finish
• Familiarity with safe work practices, especially at heights and around chemicals
• Team-oriented and able to follow creative and technical direction
