We are looking for a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team in Wallan, Victoria. In this role, you will be responsible for independently diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles to ensure safety, reliability and peak performance. You will use modern diagnostic tools and techniques while working alongside a supportive team, delivering accurate and efficient results.

Task & responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including engine assemblies, transmissions and other vehicle components, to identify faults, wear and damage.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, using service manuals, technical data, and industry best practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, brake servicing and engine tune-ups to optimise vehicle performance and meet emissions standards.
  • Reassemble engines and vehicle components with precision, ensuring all parts are tested, calibrated and fitted correctly.
  • Carry out roadworthiness inspections, issue certificates and provide professional advice on required repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to vehicle breakdowns and deliver efficient on-site diagnostic and repair solutions when required.
  • Diagnose and test vehicle components using computerised diagnostic equipment.
  • Clearly communicate vehicle issues, repair recommendations and cost estimates to customers, while offering practical advice on ongoing maintenance.

Qualification & experience

  • Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of proven, hands-on experience as a Motor Mechanic.
  • Solid knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics and current industry practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality, accurate, and efficient work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Should have Valid Roadworthy Inspections Licence (RWC).
