We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be integral to the entire lifecycle of our cutting-edge MR ore sorting projects, from initial concept and design through to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning on client mine sites. This role involves working on our core products, including Mobile Bulk Sorting Plants, On-Conveyor Analysers, and Magnetic Resonance Truck Analysers

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

•    Plan, design, organise and oversee the assembly, erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical and process plant installations (conveyors, diverters, mobile bulk sorters) 

•    Produce detailed 3D CAD models, drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS standards and safety regulations

•    Lead mechanical testing, simulations and material selection to optimise reliability and performance

•    Coordinate on-site installation, commissioning and troubleshooting at domestic and international mine sites

•    Collaborate with electrical, Telecommunications/RF, controls and process teams to integrate systems into MR analyser units

•    Prepare technical documentation, risk assessments and maintenance procedures


Qualification & experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ mechanical design experience, ideally in mining, minerals processing or heavy engineering
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD; FEA and GD&T knowledge advantageous
  • Understanding of conveyor, hydraulic, pneumatic and structural design principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project-management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Willingness to travel interstate and overseas, as part of the team for commissioning and support
