Job Role: Logistics Supervisor

Job Description Summary:
The Logistics Supervisor supports the Contract Logistics management team to maximise the branch’s performance by overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring service excellence, inventory accuracy, and workforce efficiency. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that operational workflows meet JAS standards, customer expectations, and compliance requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse and logistics operations, including receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and stock replenishment
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are handled accurately and on time
  • Supervise inventory control processes, stocktakes, cycle counts, and variance investigations
  • Monitor performance against customer KPIs and ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Manage WMS and ensure accurate data entry for all inventory and order movements
  • Liaise with internal teams (Customer Service, Transport, Freight Forwarding) and external stakeholders (customers, carriers, suppliers) to ensure seamless operational flow
  • Maintain documentation and reporting standards for audits, compliance, and customer reporting
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with JAS safety standards and workplace procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement in warehouse layout, workflow optimisation and productivity
  • Collaborate on onboarding of new accounts, including system setups, SOPs, and staff training
  • Coordinate with IT and systems support for troubleshooting and WMS enhancements
  • All other duties as assigned by the Manager

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily workflow of warehouse and operations team
  • Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure resource efficiency and coverage across shifts
  • Support implementation of new customers, systems, or procedures
  • Monitor team performance, identify training needs and conduct coaching
  • Conduct performance reviews and support recruitment, onboarding and disciplinary processes
  • Foster a safe, positive, and collaborative team environment

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse management systems, and order fulfilment processes
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Effective communication across all levels and functions
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of chain of responsibility, compliance, and workplace health and safety

Education and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of logistics/warehouse experience, preferably in a contract logistics environment
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory/leadership capacity
  • Experience with WMS platforms (e.g. Manhattan, SAP, or similar systems)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
