About The Job As coordinator of the Leisure and Lifestyle team, your role is to promote a culturally sensitive and appropriate range of Recreational, Community, Cultural and Spiritual activities for residents enabling them to function as a community, expand their skills, enjoy a healthy lifestyle and to celebrate their lifetime experiences.Ensuring the delivery of a range of high standard activities in accordance with the adopted philosophy of care, Vision Mission and Values of the organisation.Liaising with residents, families and carers in relation to resident preferences.Displaying tolerance and patience with our residents/consumers and demonstrating empathy with their needs and aspirations and encouraging their involvement – but respecting a resident’s/consumers right not to participate.Creating and implementing a monthly plan of activities that is displayed throughout the organisation.Devising and implementing a high standard of activities and programs to suit the needs and aspirations of residentsDocumenting the Social History and Family / Carer involvement as an integral part of the overall ongoing care plan review process for residents/consumers.Ensure all required documentation is completed in a timely manner. To Be Successful You Will Have A qualification in an appropriate field with Certificate 3 or 4 (desirable).Initiative and creative flair.Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable).Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.The ability to work as part of a team and be able to prioritise work.Have the ability to put a smile on a residents face and brighten their day.Innovative ideas to develop strategies to increase client participation.A pro-active and energetic self-starter with a strong customer service focus.
