Interiors by ES is seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer to join our dynamic and growing team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential design projects from concept through to completion.

The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and confident in client-facing environments. You will play a key role in leading projects, managing design presentations, coordinating with consultants and suppliers, and delivering high-quality documentation.

We are offering a competitive salary of $75,500 – $85,500 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and design-driven team culture.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision and refine the brief.
  • Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, samples, and detailed presentations to clients, stakeholders, and consultants.
  • Prepare and deliver fee proposals based on the required interior design service.
  • Efficiently manage time and calendar planning for all assigned projects.
  • Schedule and manage client meetings to progress through the design stages, ensuring all subsequent meetings are booked in advance.
  • Lead all client design meetings and prepare meeting minutes summarising key points, decisions, and action items.
  • Follow up on all client requests and coordinate items for projects under your responsibility.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including internal plans, elevations, joinery details, finishes, and FF&E schedules for approval, pricing, and construction purposes.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of interior design with architectural elements.
  • Liaise with architects and suppliers to address technical aspects that influence interior design outcomes.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients, builders, and suppliers.
  • Host internal handover/briefing meetings for project delegation to relevant team members.
  • Attend supplier presentations, liaise with supplier representatives, and update the team on appropriate new products.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in interior design, incorporating them into project designs where relevant.
  • Research and continually enhance knowledge of BCA and Australian Standards to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on residential projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering interior design projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Pinterest, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
