As the 2nd Level Hotline Technician BT you’ll support our global customer base remotely to to ensure the smooth operation and high availability of KNAPP customer IT services with a focus on LINUX around the globe. A typical day for you could look like this: 

  • Manage, resolve, and document technical support requests remotely, ensuring timely incident resolution and system updates.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex system and network issues, applying structured diagnostics and creative problem-solving.
  • Support system transitions from project deployment to customer service, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Provide global technical support, including emergency response and network troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate across departments to optimize systems and recommend improvements to hardware, software, and network operations.
  • Interpret and develop system architecture, data models, and integration specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure for optimal performance, capacity, and security.
  • Install, configure, and administer networks, servers, databases, and applications.
  • Develop network solutions tailored to business needs and maintain detailed documentation of configurations and resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and participate in ongoing training locally and internationally.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

The working hours for this role will change between 6am – 2pm, 7am – 3pm and 8am – 4pm, depending on daylight savings and time difference to Europe.

  • Technical degree or equivalent qualification,
  • Excellent IT knowledge,
  • Expert LINUX knowledge (such as Suse, Oracle Linux, navigation and manipulation safe)
  • Basic knowledge of operating system LINUX (basic shell commands),
  • Database knowledge (administration, data mirroring, backup management),
  • Network knowledge (switch and access point administration, NW dump analysis),
  • Excellent general IT knowledge,
  • Pro-active and self-motivated,
  • Well-developed capabilities in error and problem analysis,
  • Desire to collaborate, learn from others and share knowledge,
  • Desirable: German language skills.
